    A Gorgeous Vintage George McMonigle Bronze "Hunting Buddies" Pointer Dog Bird Figure Sculpture Statue Signed
    Numbered 59/500
    I believe the hunting dog is a pointer, please correct me otherwise.
    The back side of the wooden base is missing a metal tag (?)as shown in last pic. Otherwise the sculpture is in overall good condition. It's about 12.5" tall at tallest part x 9.5" x 5.5" at the base. It weighs over 8 lbs before packaging.
    About the artists
    George McMonigle for the past 30 years I have had the good fortune to make my living doing what I love....creating sculpture that inspires our spirit. Born in 1951, in Hawaii, I grew up on the coast of California enchanted by wildlife. Since early childhood art has been part of my life and in particular, the fine arts. Attending Temple University, Tyler School of Fine
    Art , 1970-74, my passion matured. My love of porcelain started , and so when my first commission came from the prestigious Edward Marshal Boehm studios in Trenton, I jumped at the opportunity. For the next six years I created sculptures in porcelain that became presidential gifts to other countries and museums around the world. I studied the art of porcelain from some of the best artists and tradesmen around the world. People seem surprised when I explain that many of the great sculptors like A.Carrier-Belleuse, Auguste Rodin and Jean-Bapiste Carpeaux all started careers in porcelain sculpture. While my love of the porcelain art form has not diminished, my love of bronze has grown.
