    Description

This Prussian Enlisted Man's Brown Leather Belt & Brass ( M1895 ) Buckle is Pre-WW 1. The Belt is Brown and shows no evidence of having been dyed black to conform with mid-war regulations. The belt shows no evidence of field repairs and measures a bit under 40". The Belt is also stamped 100 on the tip along with a stamp that I cannot make out which is pictured. Belt Buckles from this period commonly have some type of denting, this example has no dent on the crown but shows a lot of wear. It is uncommon to find a Pre-WW 1 thick leather Brown Belt & Buckle in this good shape. The patina on the brass is great. The German Empire was made up of four Kingdoms, Prussia, Bavaria, Saxony and Wurtemberg along with several Grand Duchies, Duchies and Principalities. They all contributed to the German war effort and the larger ones had some distinctive uniforms. Prussia was the largest Kingdom and this buckle carries the Prussian Crown with the motto "GOTT MIT UNS" or "GOD'S WITH US".
