Pr. of Danish Sterling Michelsen Candlesticks (Ibi Trier Morch)

A. Michelsen has long been respected as one of Denmark's finest silver producers. This lovely pair of sterling Mid Century candle holders is an excellent example of the superb design and craftsmanship that the company's fine reputation was based upon.  In the 1960s Michelsen was working with the design talent of Ibi Trier Morch, who was a premier female architect and industrial designer.  Her influence on design went far beyond architecture....and included glass and as we see here, silver.
Beyond the lovely elegant simplicity of form and quality of fabrication, the 'inter association' of these forms afford a great deal of variation in how the candle holders can be positioned relative to one another to create different geometries of form  as the two can be so placed to configure widely varied visual affects. These candle holders are in excellent condition, and each is  extensively hall marked as shown in the photo images.   These are wonderful 'Mid-Centruy' design and would compliment any setting incorporating the interior design of the 1950s and 1960s.   They each are approx 6" wide x 5" tall, and the two weigh a total of 397 gr (12.765 ozt)
